At the heart of Quebec’s mining industry, help shape sustainable water
management solutions for some of the most significant and complex projects in the Mining & Metals sector.
As a Water Management Team Lead – Mining & Metals, you will play a key role in
developing a team of passionate professionals while contributing to technical excellence, business growth, and the delivery of projects that create meaningful value for our clients, communities, and the environment.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support projects related
to water management, mining infrastructure, mine tailings, and environmental performance.

In addition to other project-related responsibilities, the primary duties of the
Water Management Team Lead include:

Lead, inspire, and develop a team of professionals specializing in mine water management.

Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion, continuous learning, and sustainable performance.

Support team members in their professional development and career growth objectives.
-
Optimize resource planning and utilization to support project success and business growth.
-
Contribute to strategic projects as a Water Management Engineer, Project Manager, or Project Director.

Collaborate with experts in water management, geotechnical engineering, mine tailings, environmental services, and infrastructure to develop integrated solutions.

Participate in the development of strategic initiatives and the continued growth of the mine water management practice.

Strengthen WSP’s reputation by delivering innovative, sustainable, and client-focused solutions.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as an engineer, project manager, or people leader within the mining, water management, or a related engineering sector.

Previous experience leading teams and managing professionals in a multidisciplinary environment.

Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop talent.

Experience collaborating on complex projects involving multiple technical disciplines.
-
Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
-
Ability to balance people leadership, operational management, and technical contributions.
-
Fluency in French; bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
-
Knowledge of regulations and industry best practices related to mine water management in Quebec and across Canada is considered a strong asset.
