This role is subject to Hybrid work model - based in Greater Toronto Area. Remote option is not available.

This is an Individual Contributor role as ITOM Senior Developer with skills focused on ServiceNow ITOM platform. Mandate will be to partake in projects requiring ServiceNow development expertise and implementing project requirements or enhancements for ServiceNow ITOM modules. Specific project areas of focus include translating user requirements into technical specifications, writing code and managing the preparation of design specifications. Supports system design, architecture, provides advice on security requirements and debugs business systems and service applications. Applies deep knowledge of algorithms, data structures and programming languages to develop high quality technology applications and services - including tools, standards, and relevant software platforms based on business requirements.

ITOM suite including CMDB Architecture and Data Models, Discovery,  Event Management, modules. The individual will also be responsible for maintenance tasks to ensure accuracy, validity and completeness of Foundation data underlying the ServiceNow platform. The role requires advanced knowledge of the relevant skills to enable the individual to deliver a high level of service and to meet the expectation from the business, as well as a solid understanding of an enterprise IT infrastructure operational environment and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing CMDB health by using Discovery (or equivalent methods) to support ITOM suite.
  • Implementation and Maintenance of CMDB related integrations and identification/reconciliation rules
  • Manages complexity across business value, technology, and interaction models.
  • Possesses a deep understanding and problem solving ability of IT of various scale, degree and dimension of complexity
  • Gathers requirements and documents these requirements for use within the project life cycle.
  • Assists in the preparation of end-user materials.
  • Participates in the creation of use cases and user expected results to ensure that software is delivered to end users with zero Severity 1 or Severity 2 defects.
  • Plans and conducts third-party software analysis as needed for inclusion in the project solution.
  • Anticipates and reduces complexity for others.
  • Managing Foundation data health using metrics to define validity, accuracy and completeness through reporting and remediation tasks
  • Development and maintenance of new and existing CMDB & ITOM integrations
  • Create and manage Web Service integrations using SOAP and REST
  • Load, transform and maintain data interfaces between ServiceNow and other systems
  • Configuration of identification rules to enable configuration data reconciliation from various sources
  • Configuration of normalization rules to enable normalization of data from various discovery sources
  • Monitor logs, performance for the CMDB/ITOM modules for ServiceNow instances
  • Provide software configuration and customization including, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third-party software integrations
  • Obtain and analyze business requirements and develop technical/function requirements
  • Use scripting tools and ServiceNow functionality to create script that will automate manual tasks where possible
  • Relentless pursuit of quality and complete adherence to coding and quality standards
  • Respond to and address customer issues and inquiries in a timely fashion
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date documentation related to the application administration and configuration
  • Research and deploy new releases, applications and enhancements as necessary
  • Complete job responsibilities utilizing predefined release and change management processes
  • Responsible for awareness and compliance to policy and guidelines of the ISM
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB architecture & Data Models
  • Experience (5+ years) of working with Event Management, Discovery and CMDB
  • Understanding of core ITIL processes
  • Scripting experience in JavaScript or equivalent
  • Experience with interfacing and integration technologies such as REST or SOAP
  • Experience (5 years) developing service models
  • Experience working closely with SME’s, project managers, and process owners to capture business requirements
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Must have knowledge of how to develop, design, configure and rollout of new application modules, workflows, catalog requests, scripts, user interface and other ServiceNow platform components such as business rules, UI pages, UI actions, UI policies, catalog items etc.

  • Prior experience with professional services environments and or large scale enterprises
  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • ServiceNow Certification
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and Software as a Service (SaaS) architecture
  • Canadian Banking industry experience
