Position: Linux Desktop Engineer
Client: Private Sector Technology Company Location: Toronto (Hybrid) Duration: 6 - 12 Months initially, potential for Contract to Hire

Must-Have Skills
7+ years of Desktop Support experience in enterprise environments Strong Linux Desktop Support and Administration (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux) End-to-end desktop/laptop support including hardware, software, OS, and peripherals Experience with Level 2/Level 3 support and incident management Strong troubleshooting skills for Linux OS, applications, networking, VPN, and connectivity issues Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems Knowledge of Active Directory, LDAP, and user account management Shell scripting (Bash) and basic automation experience Excellent customer-facing communication skill
Key Responsibilities
Provide end-to-end support for Linux desktop and laptop environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, operating system, and application issues. Install, configure, patch, and maintain Linux desktop operating systems and applications. Support user onboarding, workstation deployments, upgrades, and hardware refresh activities. Manage incidents, service requests, and escalations while meeting SLA requirements. Troubleshoot network, VPN, printer, authentication, and connectivity issues. Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, and application teams to resolve technical issues. Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles. Act as a senior escalation point for desktop support-related issues and provide mentoring to junior team members
