The Opportunity The Supply Chain Master Data Analyst role is responsible for coordinating and performing day-to-day tasks for the creation, maintenance, and data quality improvements of Master Data throughout its lifecycle. This role will work with TC Energy employees, both internal and external stakeholders. The Master Data Analyst role will work internally with multiple TC Energy functional areas, Supply Chain and external stakeholders with respect to the creation and maintenance of master data.
This position will report to the Manager - Master Data, Process Enablement & Automation. The position will attend MDM team meetings, will work closely with MDM peers, and will collaborate on MDM goals and objectives.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with requestors to obtain complete data requests that can be submitted for approval before upload
- Customer service with respect to managing intake requests with external and internal clients
- Reviews data inputting and processes to ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness
- Create Master Data - Utilize WinShuttle, MDM customized toolsets, Microsoft Office and SAP to create master data items for Supply Chain transactions
- Adhere to the defined MDM standards and processes including approver matrices, data dictionaries, process maps, and change logs
- Is responsible for data accuracy, performing and reporting on periodic audits and data integrity checks
- Leverages data tools to analyze systems data to assure compliance with business processes and a high level of data quality
- Participates in and or leads projects internal to the team as well as within the organization that involve Master Data including UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and design requirements
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of documentation and provide knowledge transfer for business processes & workflows within functional area
- End-to-End process knowledge including impacts up and downstream
- Contributes to training documentation for Master Data processes and user documentation
- Collaborates with functional groups and the MDM team on effectiveness and efficiencies of Master Data processes
- Audit incoming information to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to submitting/processing into production systems
- Monitor data quality, duplicate and obsolescence validation processes to ensure a high standard of data quality is maintained
- Conduct duplicate checks within established timelines
- Design and implement data maintenance cycles using reporting and analytics to check data gaps and data clean up
- Understand how the data could and will be used for reporting, inventory management, accounts payable, etc.; Use this knowledge to suggest improvements in the current master data procedures
- Ensure compliance with work standards, policies and procedures
- Completes on-site training requirements as needed for business clients
- Support cross-training of team members to increase overall effectiveness and versatility
- Assure and maintain data integrity in all work
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Supply Chain
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong overall computer skills
- Experience with SAP, LSMW/WinShuttle
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with a large volume of projects/initiatives within tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Power BI
- Work experience in a functional stream of supply chain
- Maintenance planning, materials management or warehousing
- Experience with training or user support
