Location: Downtown Toronto

Contract Type: 12 months - High likelihood of extension

Start Date: November 2025

Project Overview: The contractor will be embedded across multiple agile pods, contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role offers exposure to a variety of initiatives within capital markets and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and tools.

Roles and Responsibilities: Team Coordination

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies (Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Refinement, Reviews, Retrospectives) with a focus on outcomes.
  • Align teams on sprint goals, manage capacity and commitments, and resolve dependencies.
  • Maintain and enforce team agreements, Definition of Ready (DoR), and Definition of Done (DoD).
  • Proactively remove impediments and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate cross-team collaboration, release planning, and handoffs.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Deliver clear and timely updates on scope, progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Lead demos and feedback sessions; manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Communicate dependencies and their impacts; align priorities across teams.
  • Maintain a streamlined communication plan.

Status Reporting

  • Ensure Jira and other tooling are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Publish dashboards and reports (e.g., sprint burndown, release burn-up, velocity).
  • Provide weekly summaries including accomplishments, plans, risks, and changes.
  • Forecast delivery outcomes using empirical data and highlight variances early.

Scrum Guidelines & Coaching

  • Uphold Scrum values and timeboxes; prevent common anti-patterns.
  • Coach Product Owners on backlog refinement, slicing, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure quality gates are met (DoR/DoD, peer reviews, test coverage).
  • Drive continuous improvement through actionable retrospectives.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Scrum Master experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence
  • 3+ years of experience with Clarity
  • Proven ability to manage multiple agile pods
  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Capital markets experience
  • Eclipse experience
  • Familiarity with Golang

  • Self-starter with adaptability in dynamic environments
  • Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven
