Who We Are

Simon Fraser University is a leading research university, advancing an inclusive and sustainable future. Our purpose – the essence of SFU – is to create and connect knowledge, learning and community for deeper understanding and meaningful impact. We are committed to fostering excellence, innovation, belonging and community in all that we do.

The B.C. Centre for Agritech Innovation (BCCAI) empowers producers, processors, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to develop and adopt agritech solutions that enhance productivity, competitiveness, and resilience within B.C.’s agriculture and agrifood sectors. By de-risking innovation and technology adoption, BCCAI ensures that agri-businesses continue to bring innovative products, processes, and services to the market faster, strengthening food security, sustainability, and economic growth for the province.

About the Role

The Project Manager leads the development and delivery of complex, account-driven projects and strategic partnerships to advance SFU’s reputation, research income, and revenue in alignment with institutional priorities. The role manages multiple priorities and stakeholders, working with internal leaders (VPs, Deans, faculty) and external partners, including corporations, governments, industry associations, and not-for-profits. They oversee end-to-end project management, including planning, budgeting, risk mitigation, performance tracking, and schedule management. Supporting the BC Centre for Agritech Innovation (BCCAI), the role provides financial forecasting, KPI monitoring, risk analysis, and outcomes reporting to meet funding and compliance obligations. The Project Manager also delivers financial and administrative support services, ensures accurate reporting, advises on policies and agreements, and coordinates cross-portfolio teams. This position plays a key role in enabling strategic partnerships, driving operational excellence, ensuring accountability, and advancing innovation and impact for SFU and its partners.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and results-driven professional who communicates clearly and respectfully, creating inclusive environments where diverse perspectives are valued. Take a people-centered approach to problem-solving, ensuring that strategies and solutions are grounded in real needs and shared goals. With strong planning and prioritization skills, balance multiple priorities effectively and deliver measurable results. Bring creativity and innovation to complex challenges, seeking new pathways for impact. By fostering strong relationships and working across teams and sectors, help build trust, alignment, and momentum to achieve meaningful outcomes that benefit individuals, organizations, and the broader community.
