Located on Vancouver Island just 50 km north of Victoria and 30 km south of Nanaimo, the Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is in the ancestral and unceded territories of First Nations including the Quw'utsun, Malahat, Ts'uubaa-asatx, Halalt, Penelakut, Stz'uminus, Lyackson, Pauquachin, Ditidaht, and Pacheedaht Nations. Reporting to the General Manager, Community Services, the Senior Manager, Facilities Division manages and empowers direct reports by providing mentoring, support and assistance in resolving operational problems, staffing issues; responds to public, government and community organization inquiries; establishes facility and equipment life cycle asset management; responds to CVRD facilities emergency situations; provides support to the CVRD’s emergency operation centre and emergency support services, when required; engages as an integral part of the departmental management team; oversees procurement/purchasing practices and, prepares, delivers and manages the operating and capital budgets for the division.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Graduation from a recognized university or technical institute with a degree in public facilities management or administration, project management, civil engineering, or a related discipline.
- Recognized accreditation in asset management is an asset.
- Six (6) years of related experience in a local government facilities management environment.
- Experience with building construction, project management, asset management and the physical and operational aspects of public facilities.
- Experience in interacting with senior management, elected officials, consultants and union leaders.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Basic First Aid
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

35-hour full-time work week with the opportunity to participate in the CVRD’s Flex Time Program.
This position works from the CVRD's satellite office in downtown Duncan, BC and is at this time eligible to participate in the Work From Home program in a hybrid in-office / remote schedule after a successful in-office training period.
Salary range of $116,100.59 to $135,778.43 per year (2025 rate), commensurate with education, training and experience, a comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, and insurance benefits, pension, and paid vacation.
