Job Summary: At GFL, our Technicians and Mechanics keep our operational fleet running safely and efficiently. In this key role, you will perform repairs, routine maintenance, and diagnostic evaluations on heavy vehicles and equipment while maintaining high standards of workplace safety and compliance. Experience: Applicants with 3+ years’ experience will be viewed with priority. Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair Operations: Performs repairs and preventive maintenance services on vehicles and equipment. System Diagnostics: Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems. Computerized Electronics: Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate and assign repairs. Estimates & Emergency Support: Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and performs service calls for emergency breakdowns. Safety & Compliance: Conducts safety checks on all vehicles and equipment. Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate / OHSA standards. Documentation: Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting part usage, and accounting for repair times. Safety Procedures: Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Apprentice Mentorship: Working alongside apprentices to provide them with assistance and guidance.
