This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Claims Service Representative (Bilingual) based in Canada. This role is focused on helping customers navigate the first steps of their auto and property insurance claims with clarity, empathy, and efficiency. You will handle first notice of loss reports for non-complex claims while ensuring that accurate information is captured and documented. The position combines customer service, claims administration, problem-solving, and coordination with vendors and other claim-related parties. You will explain claims processes, answer policy and next-step questions, and help customers understand what to expect throughout their claim journey. As a bilingual professional, you will serve customers in both English and French while maintaining a consistently high standard of service. Accountabilities Handle first notice of loss claims for non-complex auto and property insurance claims through an Express Claim Center. Receive incoming customer calls and electronic correspondence, identify customer needs, and route inquiries appropriately when required. Obtain complete and accurate information about reported losses and document all relevant claim details in the appropriate systems. Explain the basic claims process, applicable policies, next steps, and general information to customers in a clear and empathetic manner. Answer customer questions and provide guidance throughout the initial claims process while maintaining high standards of quality and service. Exercise appropriate judgement when handling customer claims and determining the next steps required. Determine appropriate inspection methods and arrange emergency services, mitigation vendors, contractors, or temporary housing when necessary. Contact customers and third parties involved in claims to obtain or provide information required to maintain accurate and compliant claim files. Retrieve, print, fax, mail, or otherwise provide supporting documentation to vendors and other relevant parties as needed. Maintain accurate claim files by locating and requesting documents, filing paperwork, reconstructing missing files, correcting misfiled documents, and transferring documentation when required. Perform administrative and clerical tasks, including data entry, email management, calendar coordination, filing, and word processing. Work efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. Contribute to a positive customer experience by demonstrating strong communication, relationship-building, and customer-service skills in every interaction. Requirements At least 1 year of customer service experience in a professional environment. At least 1 year of experience in an auto or property claims role is preferred/required based on the role profile. Bilingual proficiency in English and French, with strong oral and written communication skills in both languages. Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service, particularly when assisting people who may be experiencing stressful or uncertain situations. Strong communication and active-listening skills, with the ability to explain processes and information clearly to customers. Strong empathy, patience, and professionalism when handling sensitive customer interactions. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage a high volume of calls, claims, and administrative tasks. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when gathering, documenting, and updating claim information. Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet service expectations. Strong digital literacy and comfort working with customer-service, claims-administration, communication, and office systems. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues and other claim-related stakeholders. Results-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to quality, customer centricity, and continuous learning. Experience with claims administration, relationship building, stakeholder management, or quality-focused service environments is an advantage.
