Rate of Pay $27.92 - $28.21 Hourly Job Type Temporary Full Time Contract Length April 30, 2027 Replacement/New Position Replacement for Existing Vacancy Posting Type Internal and External Posting Date 08/11/2026 Application Deadline 08/25/2026 Position Summary Reporting to the Supervisor, Roads and Traffic, the Seasonal Labourer - Roads is responsible for the maintenance and repair of City road infrastructure. You will have sound knowledge of the methods, tools and equipment used for several functions including road, sidewalk, boulevard, and stormwater management facility maintenance work. Key Duties and Responsibilities Manhole and catch basin repairs Curb and sidewalk construction Asphalt related repairs and maintenance of roads Road patrol Traffic control Sod repairs Removal of garbage and debris from streets, boulevards and stormwater management facilities Inspections. Associated responsibilities include the supervision of small work crews, maintenance and completion of legible records, investigating and assisting with follow-ups to enquiries from the public All duties must be performed in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and City policies, procedures and practices Education and Experience High School Diploma, or equivalent Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification One year experience in a related position would be an asset Required Skills/Knowledge Ability to work independently with limited supervision Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively Experience with MAXIMO asset management software an asset. Requirements
