Senior Piping Checkers are responsible for checking the technical requirements of the detailed drafting design of piping systems associated with plant piping, process modules and equipment layout including 3D models and 2D drawings and providing feedback and technical guidance to the design team. This position interfaces with the respective drafting coordinator or technical lead as well as the respective project engineer and provides progress updates to the respective design manager. Senior Piping Checkers complete advanced, complex, and confidential tasks requiring a strong understanding of engineering principles and a high standard of designing and drafting skill. Duties and Responsibilities * Conducts detailed checking and reporting of piping drawings such as field drawings, spools, and assembly components * Checks layouts and isometrics * Checks piping 3D models * Collaborate with Piping Designers and Drafters, Engineering disciplines, and Fabrication staff * Assists design staff * Provides weekly progress and status reports * Assists with standards development Prerequisites Education * Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT) or recognized equivalent in piping design Experience * 12 years minimum piping design experience * 5 years minimum checking experience * Fabrication shop drafting and checking experience * Strong design skills in piping systems, structural supports * Proficiency in AutoCAD / Navisworks 2020 and higher * 5 years minimum experience within 3D environments Other * Solid knowledge of the ASME code (latest edition) for checking piping designs * Solid understanding of design and drafting practices of piping components for process piping, structural, and equipment * Skills in Microsoft Excel * As a condition of employment, employees are required upon hire to sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict-of-Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement Required Skills and Abilities * Highly motivated to excel in a competitive environment * Willingness to learn new skills on demand * Strong technical English communication skills * Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills * Strong command of the English language * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills * Ability to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines * Adaptable to changing demands * Ability to take independent action to accomplish objectives * Excellent reading, research, and analytical skills * Ability to interpret and utilize complex information * Detail-oriented * Ability to monitor the quality of own work * Advanced mathematics and science skills * Problem solving * Ability to resolve technical problems * Ability to create systems for checking accuracy * Ability to understand verbal and written instructions Relationships Internal * Must work in a team environment * Attends meetings and liaises with Piping Designers, multidisciplinary Designers and Drafters, Engineering, and Fabrication staff * Confers with shop and departmental personnel while gathering information * May be required to prepare internal reports External * Not applicable Authority Level * Technical decisions are routine in nature and will follow precedents and procedures * Manager is readily available for assistance and guidance * Work is reviewed for accuracy and conformance with prescribed procedures Work Environment Specific Work Conditions * Performs work in an office setting and requires the need to deal with a diversity of people when responding to interdepartmental inquiries * Copes with frequent interruption and changing priorities * Attends meetings at other buildings Physical Requirements * Requires ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods using a computer, reading manuals, etc… * Manual dexterity for data input, paperwork and use of standard office equipment and software * Wears company-standard PPE when entering fabrication shops or visiting project sites. Requirements

Candidates must possess a diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology and at least 12 years of piping design experience, including 5 years in a checking role. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Navisworks, along with a solid understanding of ASME codes, is required.
