About The Role We are currently looking for a Van Driver for our Out of School Care program at our Seton location. We are looking for someone that has had prior experience driving a school or daycare bus, or a daycare van. Candidates must currently have a Class 4 driver's license to drive the van. Someone with their Level 1, 2, or 3 Alberta Child Care Certification already obtained would be an asset. (or someone who is willing to obtain it). A successful candidate would have good driving skills, experience driving children and a clean driver's abstract. This person must be highly motivated, adaptable, and fluent in English, as well as work well with children. A successful candidate would display professionalism and be responsible. This person must have a current criminal record check and first aid certification or be willing to obtain these items upon being hired. Key Responsibilities Driving groups of children to and from school throughout the day. Supervising during pick-ups and drop-offs. Actively engaging with and supervising school age children during field trips and at the centre. Cultivating positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Adhering to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations and Active Start's policies and procedures to ensure quality care. Qualifications A Class 4 driver's license to drive the van Prior childcare/daycare experience is an asset Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (already obtained or willing to enroll) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Professional, adaptable, and fluent in English Knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulations (preferred) Why Join Active Start? What you’ll do

The driver is responsible for transporting groups of children to and from school and supervising them during pick-ups, drop-offs, and field trips. They must also cultivate positive relationships with families and adhere to Alberta Early Learning and Child Care Regulations.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Class 4 driver's license, a clean driver's abstract, and be fluent in English. A criminal record check, first aid certification, and Alberta Child Care Certification are either required or must be obtained upon hiring.
