About the role
Required immediately, our Local Abbotsford Branch is seeking a Full Time Material Handler/Delivery Driver. FLOFORM Countertops is a Canadian company with its head office in Winnipeg, MB and has 17 branches and 8 manufacturing facilities located in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest. FLOFORM manufactures, sells and installs over 20,000 premium surface countertops a year. Established in 1961, FLOFORM is proud to be one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies.
Position Summary: The Material Handler/Delivery is primarily responsible for the shipping and receiving of countertops and related products and transporting them to the jobsites.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong organizational skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong written and oral communication
- Basic computer skills with capability of learning new software
- Must have valid driver’s license a clean criminal record and drivers abstract
- Basic mathematical skills
- Good measuring skills
- Understanding of warehouse processes
- Forklift operators’ certificate and/or able to obtain one
- Physically fit
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Transports merchandise between receiving stations, warehouse and production areas including loading and unloading delivery vehicles
- Delivers countertop orders to job sites, assisting in loading and unloading, in and around area
- Performs pre-trip inspection of vehicle and provide information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any report problems
- Maintains shipping & receiving dock in an orderly fashion
- Maintains industry vehicles and material handling equipment in safe and good working conditions
- Executes daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner
- Maintains the work area clean, safe and organized
- Lifts and carries merchandise as needed including waste disposal and recycling activities
- Collects and disposes garbage and housekeeping activities
- Other duties as assigned
