About the role
Our client is a regional group operating in the agri food processing and transportation sectors. The organization brings together several complementary entities, including processing, value added, and distribution activities. Recognized for its strong performance and adaptability, the company is currently undergoing a structuring phase to support its growth.
Reporting to the President, the General Manager will oversee operations, structure the organization, and align teams. The role will act as a hands on operational leader to optimize performance and support sustained growth.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Overall Management
- Ensure full oversight of operations across all business units.
- Supervise and mobilize the management teams (plants, transportation, sales, finance).
- Establish an efficient and sustainable organizational structure. Operations and Performance
- Optimize production and processing operations.
- Implement performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure proper monitoring.
- Oversee the supply chain, logistics, and transportation operations.
- Ensure operational efficiency and profitability. Business Development and Growth
- Identify and implement growth opportunities (products, markets, processing).
- Participate in business development initiatives and support the sales function.
- Contribute to business diversification and innovation. Financial Management
- Participate in budget planning and financial monitoring.
- Analyze performance results and implement corrective actions as needed. Culture and Human Resources
- Lead, develop, and support the growth of internal teams.
- Maintain a strong company culture focused on collaboration and talent development.
- Support managers in developing their leadership and management skills.
- Perform any other related duties.
Position Benefits:

Requirements:
- Significant experience in operations management (manufacturing or agri food environment).
- Experience managing multi site or multi unit operations.
- Ability to structure a fast growing or lightly formalized environment.
- Hands on, motivating leadership style.
- Strong organizational and process optimization skills.
- Solid understanding of commercial and business challenges.
- Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capabilities.
- Relevant university degree (business administration, engineering, agri food, etc.); an MBA is an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate with other provinces and the United States approximately 50% of the time.
Salary: Starting at $140,000 per year Schedule: Day shift Status: Permanent
