Position Description
The Department of Computer Science invites applications for a nine-month Limited Term appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will begin August 17, 2026. Excellent applicants in all areas of Computer Science will be considered. Applicants with a research and teaching focus on areas that complement the department’s strengths are preferred. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate must hold a PhD (or a nearly completed PhD) in Computer Science. The candidate must show a strong commitment to teaching. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level in Computer Science.
About the Department
The Department of Computer Science offers undergraduate programs (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science). We support many undergraduates in summer research projects, funded by programs such as NSERC USRAs. We offer a research-based MSc program, and the research activity in Computer Science at StFX has received high rankings by Macleans’ magazine. The Department has also recently launched a new course-based Master’s of Applied Computer Science to complement other undergraduate degrees. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the continued growth, direction and success of the new program in the department.
