About the role
Job description: Loader Operator Thorold Auto Parts & Recycling is currently seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Loader Operator. This role is essential in supporting the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, materials, and inventory throughout our facility. The successful candidate will operate heavy equipment to load, unload, transport, and organize vehicles and materials while adhering to all safety protocols and operational standards. Our commitment is to maintain an organized, productive work environment and provide exceptional service by ensuring materials are handled accurately, efficiently, and with the utmost care. Key Responsibilities: · Report daily to Supervisor any issues from previous day not already reported and receive any new instructions · Inspect equipment daily in accordance with inspection sheets, submit daily reporting any mechanical issues to supervisor · Maintain the equipment in a clean manor · Safe transport of all vehicles · Safe staging of dismantled vehicles into the yard in accordance with yard practice · Safe transport of vehicles in and out of dismantle bays · Record all vehicle location changes · Load and unload deliveries, car carriers, core carriers, etc. · Maintain yard laneways by smoothing and repairing potholes · Keep roadways and aisles clear of debris · Maintain load and operate the crushing machine in accordance with operation instructions · Maintain Crusher Desired Skills: Multitasking capabilities and effective communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and precision. Goal-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence. Computer skills Physical Demands/Work Environment: Ability to sit, stand, bend, and move intermittently. Capable of intense physical labor and repetitive lifting, with a minimum lifting capacity of 75lbs. Comfortable working outdoors in diverse weather conditions. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, office settings, extreme temperatures, and moderate noise levels. No lifting restrictions, no fear of heights, and tolerance for various temperature levels and occasional inclement driving conditions. This is a full-time position Monday to Friday, occasional weekends during peak busy times.
