JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail oriented and technically skilled CAD Draftsperson specializing -or eager to specialize-in greenhouse systems design. This person works collaboratively with Design & Engineering, Sales and customers to create 2D and 3D drawings of greenhouse systems, including structural, mechanical and other engineered systems that make up a greenhouse. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on precision and enjoys collaborating with teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate computer assisted design (CAD) software, in order to design, prepare and producedetailed 2D and 3D drawings per contract documents and specifications;
• Prepare shop drawings and communicate with clients, project managers, and other teams;
• Check and verify shop drawings to confirm specifications and design data;
• Participate in drafting meetings to review assigned projects, including timelines, drafting issues re: generation of shop drawings, etc.;
• Organize and maintain digital CAD digital files for projects in the respective folders;
• Communicate independently with internal stakeholders re: scope of work for assigned projects;
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, documents and project record keeping;
• Organize workload and manage time effectively to ensure on-time completion of assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Post secondary diploma in a related field or equivalent relevant experience;
• Minimum 1 year experience working in a Designer/Draftsperson role;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, and Solidworks modelling tools (other similar CAD software will be considered);
• Familiarity with greenhouse systems and greenhouse design is an asset.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Ability to 3D model with an efficient and methodical approach;
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work with people at all levels including stakeholders and clients;
• Self starter, ability to determine what is needed to be done with little guidance;
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis;
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook.
