Trim Landscaping is a full-service landscaping company that provides commercial and large-scale high-end residential landscaping services in Nova Scotia. We are continually growing and are looking to add a Landscape Leader to our team in Bedford! Our working days are Monday to Friday, Occasionally Saturday.
Job Duties:
-
Supervise and coordinate daily softscape crew activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards
-
Instruct, train, and mentor crew members in proper work methods, planting techniques, and plant care practices
-
Monitor work quality, productivity, and adherence to schedules, production targets, and design specifications
-
Lead daily tailgate talks and bi-weekly toolbox talks; enforce PPE use and safe work practices; report and log all incidents and near misses
-
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and landscape designs; layout planting beds and plant locations accordingly
-
Install trees, shrubs, and perennials, ensuring proper soil preparation, planting depth, spacing, staking, and overall installation quality

Inspect plant material for quality and health; ensure proper handling, installation, watering, and ongoing care to promote long-term plant health

Identify pests, diseases, and deficiencies; perform minor pruning and maintenance as required

Calculate and organize materials required (e.g., soil, mulch, sod, plant material) and coordinate daily/next-day pickup needs

Troubleshoot on-site issues and adjust plans as needed to maintain workflow and quality standards

Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites, including trucks, trailers, and equipment; oversee preventative maintenance

Communicate effectively with customers and management regarding project progress, issues, and updates
-
Submit accurate daily timesheets including jobsite details, notes, and photos
Job Requirements:

High school graduation required; associate's degree preferred.

2-5 years experience in landscape planting or horticulture
-
1-2 years supervisory experience
-
Strong plant identification and plant care knowledge
-
Ability to read and interpret landscape design plans
-
Equipment operating experience (mini-excavators and skid steers)
-
Strong communication and organizational skills
-
Valid driver’s license
