About the role
Description: The Environmental Services Worker l is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas. The Environmental Services Worker l performs these tasks in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Completion of Grade 10 or recognized equivalent required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Ability to perform specialized cleaning procedures in isolation areas (ICN, ICU, OR, patient rooms, isolation rooms, pharmacy sterile compounding rooms; etc.) required. Basic computer skills, required. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English, required. Ability to lift 25 pounds above shoulder height, required. Strong interpersonal skills and training in customer relations. Ability to work quickly and accurately under deadlines. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow directions and guidelines. High standards for cleanliness and sanitation with strong attention to detail. Demonstrates a high degree of confidentiality and high levels of honesty and integrity; required. Requires moderate to heavy physical exertion which may include long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, or recurring lifting. Must be able to work in a busy and fast paced environment. Must be able to work holidays/weekends and a variety of shift times.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 10 required; completion of grade 12 preferred. Previous cleaning experience in a healthcare setting; preferred. WHMIS certificate, preferred.
