ABOUT EAGLE ENGINEERING CORP. Eagle Engineering is a civil engineering consulting firm, working primarily on provincial highway projects from proposal through to construction completion. In operation for over 30 years, Eagle Engineering has been responsible for rehabilitation and new construction projects throughout southern and central Alberta.
ABOUT THE JOB
We're looking for an Experienced CAD Technologist who is proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D and can become productive immediately in corridor and roundabout modeling. You'll work on Alberta highway and transportation projects as a key part of our design team. Examples of recent and current projects include the addition of climbing lanes to an existing highway and the upgrade of existing at-grade intersections to roundabouts. Due to Eagle Engineering’s staff size of about ten employees, some limited field work and overtime may be required in this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Use Autodesk Civil 3D to create alignments, profiles, assemblies, and corridors to accurately model roadways, intersections, and roundabouts. Use Autodesk Civil 3D or AutoCAD to prepare construction drawings including intersection plans, RD plans/profiles, cross sections, and details. Use Autodesk Civil 3D to process preliminary survey data, create original ground surfaces, and complete volume analysis for grading projects. Reference Alberta Transportation design standards, and implement them in drafting and modeling tasks. Help improve internal drafting standards, consistency, and project documentation. Collaborate with our design manager and other internal and external team members. Potential to be involved in field activities including GNSS survey, site inspections, and construction supervision.
SKILLS AND CREDENTIALS
- Strong proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of Alberta Transportation and TAC design standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently on complex projects.
- Effective written and verbal communication.
- Ability to effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to teach and learn.
- CET designation is an asset.
- Experience with GPS survey equipment is an asset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Technical diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving abstract.
