Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for repairing and maintaining all trailers and related equipment
• Ensure that the equipment is safe and in good working order.
• Perform diagnosis and repairs to a variety of trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance services to trailers.
• Review work orders and discuss work to be performed with the supervisor.
• Use hand tools and various specialized diagnostic equipment to diagnose, isolate and repair faults.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service.
• Advise supervisor on work performed general trailer condition and future work required.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers and service managers.
• Read and interpret owner/operator/manufacturer operating manuals and service specifications.
• Keep up-to-date on technology and upgrade skills as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Certified 310T license
• Experience in repairs of trailers or heavy-duty equipment maintenance.
• Experience with procedures for the repair and maintenance of a wide range of trailers.
• Experience with preventative and predictive maintenance schedules and programs.
• Experience with equipment inspection procedures.
• Applicant is required to provide their own tools.
• Experience with workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Experience with using computer technology to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Ability to operate required tools in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and work orders.
• Ability to safely handle and use cleaning chemicals, fuels, and equipment.
• Ability to maintain accurate records.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work in adverse conditions such as weather extremes, around fumes, noise, dust, and dirt.
