In the context of our expansion in North America, Iris Galerie is seeking an Accounting Supervisor.

Job Description:

1. Daily Accounting Operations

Supervise accounts payable (vendor invoices, approvals, payment runs) Supervise accounts receivable (customer invoicing, collections, refunds) Ensure accurate coding of expenses and revenues Monitor bank transactions and daily cash movements 2. Month-End & Closing Process

Lead monthly close calendar and deliverables Review and post accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (bank, payroll, taxes, intercompany) Prepare monthly financial packages for management 3. Financial Reporting & Controls

Produce internal reporting (P&L by store, KPIs, budget vs actual) Maintain strong internal controls over cash, payments, and approvals Support audit preparation and compliance documentation Ensure accounting policies are consistently applied 4. Payroll & HR Finance Coordination

Coordinate payroll accounting entries and reconciliations Ensure proper treatment of tips, bonuses, commissions Support compliance with multi-state/province payroll rules Liaise with HR on employee expense reimbursements 5. Tax & Compliance Oversight

Support sales tax filings and compliance (Avalara or equivalent) Ensure timely filing of corporate taxes with external accountants Monitor government remittances (GST/HST, payroll taxes) Maintain documentation for cross-border entities (Canada/USA) 6. Team Supervision & Process Improvement

Manage and train junior accountants/AP clerks Assign workload and ensure deadlines are met Improve accounting workflows and automation (QuickBooks, Odoo, etc.) Build standardized procedures across all locations 7. External Liaison

Main point of contact for external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, landlords (financial clauses) Skills and Qualifications:

Team management experience. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Job type: 40 hours per week
