Role Description The Community Worker – Cross Program Support is a full-time, on-site role based in Brampton, ON. This role involves providing direct support to community members across multiple programs, including assisting with intake, needs assessment, and connecting individuals to appropriate services and resources. The Community Worker will coordinate with other staff and external partners, maintain accurate records, and contribute to program planning and evaluation. Daily activities include meeting with clients, offering practical and emotional support, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed, and responding to inquiries in person and by phone or email. The role also includes providing basic technical support related to program tools or systems, participating in team meetings and trainings, and helping to promote community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience in roles similar to Support Workers, with the ability to provide direct, client-centered assistance across multiple programs. Strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to build trust, engage diverse community members, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and partners. Knowledge of Safeguarding practices, including maintaining confidentiality, identifying risk, and following organizational and legal protection protocols. Ability to provide basic Technical Support related to program systems, digital tools, and documentation processes. Relevant education or training in social services, community work, social work, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Understanding of community resources and social support systems in the Brampton/Peel region is an asset. Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple cases and administrative tasks efficiently.
