About the role
The Human Resources Assistant provides administrative support to the Human Resources department and assists with the day-to-day delivery of HR programs and services. This role supports key HR functions, including time and attendance administration, employee records management, recruitment support, and HR reporting. The Human Resources Assistant helps ensure HR processes are completed accurately, confidentially, and in compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.
- Assist with weekly time and attendance reviews, including payroll edits and hour calculations.
- Maintain accurate employee attendance, and personnel records.
- Liaise with temporary staffing agencies regarding staffing requirements and employee placements.
- Assist with employee relations matters by preparing documentation and maintaining confidentiality.
- Prepare HR reports, maintain databases, and compile employee information as required.
- Complete HR data entry and ensure employee files are accurate, organized, and up to date.
- Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including enrollments and changes.
- Prepare disciplinary and other employment-related documentation under the direction of the HR Manager.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR department and assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous administrative or HR experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience using ADP Workforce Now, including time and attendance administration and employee data management considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle for occasional travel between company locations, if required.
