Position Conditions:
- This seasonal position will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69. This opportunity is open to all applicants; however, first consideration will be given to current City of Brandon CUPE employees. The City of Brandon reserves the right to underfill this position.
- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
Rate of Pay: $17.74 - $18.86 per hour (2026 Rate).
Closing Date: Applications will be accepted until positions are filled.
This competition will include an interview.
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under the general direction of the Aquatic Programmer, incumbents will provide a safe and fun environment for members of the public. Teamwork, supervision, communicating with the public and maintenance tasks are key components of this position.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and participate in spray park activities under the direction of the Aquatic Programmer
- Provide leadership and direction to the participants and show enthusiasm;
- Provide a safe, cooperative and enjoyable environment for program participants;
- Ensure public health guidelines are adhered to at all times;
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Emergency (Basic) First Aid/Level C CPR (must be obtained prior to start date);
- Successful completion of a Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Verification; (must be obtained prior to start date);
- Related experience in recreation, programming, education, instruction, sports background;
- Previous experience working with children;
- Previous experience working in a multi-ethnic setting.
