Job Purpose
The Senior Insurance Partner – Equipment Financ e is a foundational, pilot role established to launch and validate a captive insurance partner model supporting the equipment finance business. This position serves as the initial proof point for integrating commercial property and casualty insurance into equipment finance originations, portfolio risk management, and customer value creation—informing the strategy and operating model for broader expansion into the insurance business.
Operating as a strategic partner embedded within the equipment finance ecosystem, this role delivers insurance solutions that protect financed assets, improve portfolio performance, and enhance the overall financing value proposition. The role combines senior‑level commercial insurance expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset, requiring the ability to build, execute, refine, and scale a new insurance capability within a finance‑led environment.
Key Responsibilities
Captive Partner & Pilot Leadership
- Lead the launch and execution of the captive insurance partner pilot, establishing foundational operating models, governance, workflows, and success metrics.
- Serve as the primary insurance partner aligned to equipment finance programs, acting as an extension of the finance organization.
- Demonstrate the commercial, risk, and customer value of integrated insurance offerings to support future expansion decisions.
- Identify lessons learned, operational efficiencies, and scalability considerations for broader insurance platform development.
Strategic Advisory & Alignment
- Align insurance structures with equipment finance strategies, credit standards, and portfolio objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to finance leadership, dealer principals, and internal risk partners on insurance strategy, coverage design, and risk mitigation.
- Support the development of bundled finance‑and‑insurance solutions that strengthen competitiveness and customer outcomes.
- Provide insight on commercial insurance market conditions, pricing trends, carrier appetite, and emerging risks relevant to financed equipment.
Program Design & Portfolio Risk Support
- Support the design and continuous refinement of captive‑aligned insurance programs embedded within equipment finance offerings.
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance portfolio risk management, asset protection, and loss mitigation. Partner with credit, risk, and legal teams to ensure insurance solutions are aligned with underwriting, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
Dealer & Customer Engagement
- Work closely with equipment dealers to position insurance as a value‑added component of the financing process.
- Advise customers on complex commercial property and casualty exposures associated with financed equipment.
- Deliver tailored, compliant insurance solutions that balance coverage adequacy, cost efficiency, and risk protection.
Execution & Governance
- Oversee insurance placement, servicing, and ongoing program management within the captive partner framework.
- Ensure disciplined execution, regulatory compliance, and adherence to underwriting and program guidelines.
- Establish service standards and reporting to support transparency, performance tracking, and decision‑making.
