Purpose of your Position - Non Union

Classification Summary - Union

An Equipment Operator I operates and maintains mobile and hand-held equipment of limited
complexity according to proper competency standards, safety practices and regulations.
Performs manual work.

Duties - Union

• Operates equipment and vehicles including single-axle trucks, small machinery and parks implements (e.g. field line painters, aerators, stump grinders, jackhammers, small tractors and mowers) and a variety of hand and power tools .

• Performs routine inspections, maintenance, minor repairs and lubrication of equipment. Refers equipment for mechanical repair and services as required.

• Removes and disposes of debris and hazardous waste materials found when performing general duties .

• Responds to routine public enquiries; maintains written records of work performed.

• Performs manual labour work.
