Position Summary
The A/V tech is a member of the Event Services team that delivers operational service and support, as well as technical expertise for various audio/visual and other electronic systems utilized in our venues during Stampede.
These Positions are Stampede-time roles for the Calgary Stampede celebration in July 2026
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Set up and operation of A/V equipment including Mixers, speakers Microphones, Truss etc.
- Providing high quality, front line and Systems service to internal/external clients.
- Working within a team environment.
- Troubleshooting issues with various audio, visual and other electronic systems.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have the ability to multitask, as well as the following:
- Working toward or in possession of a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution or related experience in Audio/Video Systems operation, design, repair, installation and maintenance.
- Some experience operating and maintaining various audio/visual systems including event & stage lighting systems, as well as installing, testing & troubleshooting.
- A/V system networking skills are considered an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skill; Team player.
- Ability to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
Please note that all applicants will be required to:
- Be 18 years of age or older by June 2026.
- Be legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.
- Have a Social Insurance Number.
- Have a bank account in the employees name.
- Must successfully participate in a criminal background check.
- Be available to work for all 10 days of the Calgary Stampede.
- Complete and comply with all required training and policies.
