About the Position

Reports to Manager, Mental Health & Family Wellness
Summary of Role
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Family Wellbeing Department at TIES, the BENCH Project Lead will facilitate the implementation and operation of this collaborative project. This includes supporting collaboration, research, administration, communications, data management, and outreach functions of the program. This position includes staff supervision.
BENCH: Building Equitable Newcomer Crisis Help is a collaborative project of The Immigrant Education Society, Calgary Catholic Immigration Society, Centre for Newcomers, and Distress Centre. The goal of BENCH is to improve the fit between the crisis services newcomers need and the services available to them. BENCH specifically looks to a) increase engagement with and uptake of crisis services, b) enhance the quality of culturally and linguistically relevant primary and secondary crisis services, and c) build awareness of available services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Refine the program model and develop implementation plans with relevant goals and deliverables in collaboration with project partners and stakeholders
- Establish measurement systems to track the fidelity and effectiveness of strategies and their impact on systems and clients
- Coordinate inter-agency communication and support effective collaboration
- Create project documentation as needed
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates regarding the status of projects to stakeholders
- Collaborate with project researchers and evaluators to ensure success
- Assist with identifying opportunities for improvement in the program, project management processes, and procedures
- Coordinate the development and delivery of material to increase public and professional awareness of services
- Capacity building in the sector and with ethno-cultural organizations to enhance understanding of needs and gaps in crisis services for newcomers
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to develop training and understand the learning needs of staff
- Represent BENCH in building partnerships and involvement in intersectoral initiatives
- Collaborate, communicate, and network with multiple stakeholders (internal and external), organizations and professionals who are working in the field of crisis response, mental health, settlement, and integration supports
- Work collaboratively with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams across partner organizations
- In collaboration with the Steering Committee, strategize, plan, and offer consultation on funding proposals toward the growth and sustainability of the program
- Supervise administrative staff for the project
- Support and maintain financial reporting procedures and practices
- Help other partner programs and employees when needed
- Perform other work-related duties assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements / Qualifications
- The successful candidate will have a post-Secondary degree in Human Services, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and transferable skills.
- Experience in a mental health-related or crisis response setting is highly desired.
- Minimum five years of work experience in a related field.
- The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and own reliable transportation.
- Must complete a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search.
