- Inspect structural condition of pedestrian bridges/tunnels, timber stairways and retaining walls (mentoring/training provided).
- Process 311 service requests.
- Data collection and entry.
- Search and gather information related to bridge files.
- Conduct safety and environmental inspections at capital projects (training provided).
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program with a major or interest in Structural Engineering.
- A valid class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent) and the use of personal vehicle.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated customer focus.
- Well-developed observation skills with a strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Working Conditions: This position works a mix of office and field work with a large portion of work taking place outdoors throughout Calgary's extensive network of parks and pathways. This position also requires climbing slopes, stairs, ladders and working adjacent to traffic while performing inspections.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2026.
- If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).
Pre-employment Drug Test: An offer of employment for this position will be conditional on an applicant passing a pre-employment drug test. This test assesses for use of drugs including cannabis. Failure to pass a pre-employment drug test may prevent an applicant from being hired into any safety sensitive position for a period of up to twelve months.

Compensation: $29.82 per hour
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
