Summary
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A Cook 2 (iNTERMEDIATE COOK) to join our culinary team
This is an exciting role in applying your culinary passion and creating flawless dining experiences for our guests
What is expEcted of me in this role?
- Intermediate cook perform all fundamental cooking skills with consistency, including preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Prepare menu items by reviewing recipes, assembling ingredients, and executing dishes according to Hyatt standards and specifications
- Maintain exceptional levels of cleanliness and organization, always ensuring a sanitary and safe kitchen environment
- Adhere strictly to food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols; maintain temperature logs and HACCP documentation; and ensure accurate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items
- Demonstrate motivation and a willingness to learn, progressively developing the ability to work multiple stations within the culinary department
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to a team‑focused kitchen culture
- Maintain flexible availability to support efficient scheduling and operational needs
- Hold valid work authorization for Canada
experience
- 2 years of previous line experience
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred
- Ability to guide entry level cooks towards most professional approach to work
- Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in ability to safely and effectively operate standard foodservice equipment
