WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE
The Accounting & Finance Team provides oversight, direction, and support in all aspects of accounting at The Calgary Airport Authority. The team works closely and collaboratively with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify invoice details including amounts, dates, vendors, and supporting documentation in accordance with established accounting and insurance claim procedures.
- Review invoice backup documentation to determine suitability for insurance claim submission, ensuring documentation is factual, complete, and compliant with insurer requirements.
- Analyze, collect, and interpret financial data for insurance-related and other large reconciliations using pre-defined templates and established methods.
- Match codes, vendor names, and supporting details to ensure accuracy and completeness of reconciliation data.
- Complete assigned insurance, lease, and other scheduled reconciliations using established accounting and claim review methods.
- Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding insurance claim–related discrepancies and documentation inquiries.
- Ensure timely entry, verification, and organization of financial data in accordance with month-end cut-off schedules.
- Liaise with internal business units and external parties (e.g., insurers, adjusters, advisors) regarding insurance claim documentation, requirements, and status.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

- High School Diploma or GED Required. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- 1-3 years of direct experience in reconciliations and accounting processes.
- Knowledge of core accounting principles related to accounts payable, reconciliations, and cost validation.
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable procedures, including reviewing invoices and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Understanding how financial transactions, invoices, and supporting documentation flow through reimbursement or claim processes.
- Knowledge of documentation standards and best practices for organizing, validating, and presenting financial information for audit, insurance, or third-party review.
WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET
- Bilingual in English and French
- Insurance claim documentation experience is considered an asset.
