Overview of the Role
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, this position supports the Alberta Distribution Team by ensuring compliance to established accountability practices and processes, while being an active participant in the Distribution Team and providing support/assistance where required.
How you will make contributions that matter:
- Plan, schedule, and optimize daily outbound loads based on capacity, timelines, and cost considerations.
- Coordinate Line Haul Load Balancing planning and balancing loads, consolidating shipments with a high level of accuracy, and maximizing cube utilization while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Source, select, and secure carriers while ensuring competitive rates and service reliability.
- Prepare and issue load tenders, shipment documentation, and related transportation records.
- Maintain compliance with organizational policies, transportation regulations, and carrier qualification requirements.
- Monitor carrier performance, safety ratings, insurance, and contractual obligations.
- Track delivery progress, troubleshoot delays, and ensure accurate on‑time delivery performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for delivery issues, escalations, and service updates.
- Manage discrepancies such as shortages, damages, or mis‑shipments and coordinate corrective action
- Work closely with carriers, warehouse staff, inventory teams, and customer service to ensure seamless distribution operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve operational barriers and improve service levels.
- Oversee freight invoice coding, validation, and discrepancy resolution in collaboration with Finance/Accounts Payable.
- Track departmental expenditures and submit for further processing.
- Ensures RDO/LHO/DSD compliance to document procedures and paperwork submission.
- Prepare commission packages.
- Participate in meetings, provide updates, and assist with departmental planning initiatives.
- Various weekly, period end reports as required.
- Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, Food Safety and other Company regulations and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process gaps and recommending efficiency enhancements.
- Order office supplies, manage inventory for administrative materials, and support general office coordination tasks.
- Assist leadership with logistics planning and special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in General Business/Administration/Transportation an asset; prior accounting experience an asset.
- Experience within Distribution/ Logistics and/or Sales environments.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience is an asset
- Working knowledge of Computer Systems (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of DDS – DSS systems.
- High level of self-motivation and initiative / ability to contribute to the development of a sound regional team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Ability to work independently.

Salary:$54,080 to $70,980
Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training
