Overall Accountability

The Culinary Arts Assistant supports students and teachers in the Culinary Arts Program.

Specific Accountabilities

• Assists Commercial Cook/Food Service Coordinator and Culinary Arts teacher(s) in the supervision of students
• Records data concerning food sales, student information, etc.
• Assists with production of food items for the school cafeteria and catering events
• Provides guidance to students on basic recipes and skills
• Handles daily cafeteria financial tasks (receives proper daily floats from Business Manager, maintains records and balances daily cash outs)
• Operates cash register during cafeteria service periods
• Handles the distribution, inventory and assignment of student uniforms

Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma
• Completion of one (1) year of Cook Apprenticeship training or equivalent commercial food service experience
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good interpersonal skills
