The Data Advisor acts as a trusted bridge between business, analytics, and technology teams, ensuring that data products, reporting, and analytical outputs are accurate, fit for purpose, and aligned to real operational needs. The role combines deep data fluency with strong business judgment, focusing on problem framing, data interpretation, and decision support rather than pure development or delivery.

Requirement:
- Three to five years of experience in data modeling, analytics and technical transformation for operational needs
- Experience with SAP4, AWS Glue3, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Office and Power BI
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science or Engineering
- Strong analytical background with ability to translate technical data into actionable insights

Key accountabilities:
- Partner with business to gather requirements and translate business questions into clear data requirements and analytical approaches
- Validate and challenge assumptions to ensure insights reflect real operational context
- Review data models, transformations, and calculations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate business logic
- Shape reporting and analytical outputs so they emphasize meaningful outcomes, drivers, and decision‑relevant signals rather than raw metrics
- Advise on simplification, consolidation, and retirement of low‑value or misleading reports
- Ensure reporting aligns to agreed definitions, metrics, and business standards
- Clarify ownership boundaries and facilitate effective handoffs between teams by prioritization by helping teams understand trade‑offs, dependencies, and downstream impacts
Location and other key details:
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
