Position Overview:
We are looking for a Disabilities Management Coordinator for a summer placement through the Canada Summer Jobs program. This role offers a unique opportunity to support Albertans with disabilities and gain experience in client services, program delivery, and resource coordination. This position reports to the Family Resource Lead and works closely with the Family Resource Centre team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first point of contact for individuals, caregivers, and professionals seeking support
- Assist clients in navigating funding programs such as FSCD, PDD, and Accessibility Supports
- Help coordinate our Equipment Loan Program, including documentation and delivery
- Maintain and update client records and case notes
- Support the planning and delivery of virtual and in-person family support programming
- Assist with FSCD & PDD training sessions and workshops
- Perform general administrative duties, such as responding to inquiries, data entry, and event support
- Identify service gaps and report updates on community programming to the Family Resource Lead
Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital platforms (SharePoint experience is a plus)
- Empathetic and passionate about helping individuals and families
- Able to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Positive attitude, adaptable, and eager to learn
- Previous customer service or administrative experience is an asset
- Understanding of the disability community is a bonus but not required
- Ability to work remotely with access to a reliable internet connection

Education Requirement:
- Post-secondary education in progress or recently completed (Social Work, Human Services, Education, Disability Studies, etc.) preferred
