As a Document and Records Strategist, you will design, develop, implement and maintain the Business Unit (BU) records management program. In this position, you will provide accurate information to internal and external auditors, clients, external interested parties as well as guidance to all staff on Information Management. Primary duties include:
- Manage the BU Network Drives by creating or maintaining current network drives.
- Provide training, respond to questions, and liaise with Information Technology (IT) and Corporate records to set new best practice standards.
- Create Business Unit policies and procedures with respect to records management.
- Supervise Divisional/BU staff records program.
- Provide training to staff on the requirements for records management and retention while also ensuring training materials are up-to-date and accurately reflect the systems structures, financial requirement and project related coding.
- Oversee and coordinate records management projects, complete records, disposition, and complete analysis and investigation into records requests.
- Act as Access and Privacy Program Administrator (APPA - formerly FOIP PA) for the BU and coordinate the response to all Access to Information inquires.
Qualifications
- A completed 1-year certificate in Records Management and at least 5 years of experience in Records and Information Management; OR
- A completed 2-year diploma in Records Management and at least 3 years of experience in Records and Information Management; OR
- A degree and at least 3 years of related experience.
- Experience in research, analysis, design, development and implementation of record/document management processes and systems such as Enterprise Content Management (ECM), specifically Content Server, is required.
- Experience using and designing libraries in Content Server/Physical Objects is required.
- Experience and knowledge using SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams is an asset.
- Training on the Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) through Access and Privacy Service Alberta is an asset.
- Knowledge or experience in Windows Server Administration, such as folder tree design and Network Drive document and folder management, is an asset.
- Experience using Livelink/iRIMS/Content Management systems would be an asset.
- Experience and knowledge about data/records management international standards such as ISO International Standard and best practices about Provincial Archives policies would also be considered an asset.
- Success in this position requires the ability to multitask and meet deadlines with a high degree of efficiency, strong communication skills with the ability to present to small and medium size groups.
Working Conditions: Office environment with travel between various work sites is required.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
