The MaKami team is passionate about creating generational change through education, supported by strong systems, organization, and a collaborative work environment. As MaKami College continues to grow and expand its program offerings, we have recently launched a Health Care Aide Certificate Program. We are seeking a detail oriented professional to support this program in a primarily administrative capacity, providing essential coordination and operational support to Lead Instructors while also providing student support as needed.
Responsibilities: (But not limited to)
- Assist with setting up classrooms (i.e.labs)
- Providing instructional assistance in the lab setting by demonstrating and assisting students to learn clinical skills, knowledge, and attitude
- Assist in remediation activities for learners
- Provide administrative support to the HCA team
- Coordinating practicum placements on HSPnet
- Updating student records on Moodle
Skills and Abilities:
- Able to communicate verbally and in written English
- Evidence of commitment to personal growth
- Mature, reliable, with sound judgement and decision-making abilities
- Strong organizational abilities and detail-oriented to ensure accuracy
Education and Experience:
- Graduating from a recognized post-secondary Health Care Aide program is an asset
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Administrative Assistant role
- Previous experience using Moodle or a similar learning platform an advantage
- HSPnet is an asset
- Previous teaching experience in a practicum setting would be an asset
