Opportunity
In conjunction with the Government of Canada, MacEwan University is offering youth the opportunity to apply their education and skills in the workplace through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program, which is a 6-to-16-week employment program between April 20, 2026, to August 29, 2026.
Griffins Athletics is looking for a keen and enthusiastic student to fill the role of Student Operations Assistant. This role will be involved in various aspects of day-to-day department operations including assisting with the planning and delivery of various department events, the Junior Griffins summer camp program, and 2026-27 event calendar.
This role will work 35 hours per week, with an expected appointment start date of May 19, 2026, and ending on or before August 29, 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing assistance with the set-up, operation and breakdown of the department’s events;
- Working closely with internal and external constituencies to coordinate home athletics contests and sponsor activation;
- Creating marketing and promotional plans for upcoming events and activities;
- Organizing and sorting department archive materials; and
- Assisting with day-to-day activities within the operations department.

- strong communication and leadership skills.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or working towards a high school diploma.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Position Requirements
To be eligible, you must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the beginning of employment;
- Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
Please note, international students on a study/work permit are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
