Your Opportunity:

Units 21 and 22 are adult inpatient acute care mental health units at the Foothills Medical Centre. This position will be responsible for a mix of both group interdisciplinary facilitation/co facilitation and individual work with clients with acute exacerbation of a variety of mental health concerns.

Description:

As the Mental Health Therapist, you will be required to use a variety of treatment modalities (individual, family, and group) to persons experiencing significant mental health difficulties. Working both independently and as a member of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide evidence informed and best practices in crisis intervention, assessment, consultation, referral, case management and treatment.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology; or master's degree in Social Work (clinical specialization) including education in mental health assessment and psychotherapy; or master's or bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy; or master's degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing including training and experience in mental health assessment and provision of psychotherapy. Active or eligible for registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Additional Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 2 years working in a therapy position within an Adult Mental Health program or service. Demonstrated knowledge in working in acute stabilization of mental illness required. Demonstrated skills in group development and facilitation required. Proficiency with both CBT and DBT therapy modalities. Demonstrated proficiency with individual and family therapy. Demonstrated ability to manage a case list and work within tight timeframes. Demonstrated ability to work well on a multi-disciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Concurrent disorders experience preferred. Experience with supporting patients through ketamine therapy preferred.
