We are currently looking for On-Call Teachers that have strong interpersonal skills and find joy in working with children and adults. The ideal candidate will be committed to learning and teaching in emergent, project-based ways, lead by example for the children, and ensure a positive and collaborative work environment with all teachers in the classroom.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Make a difference every day!

Spark imagination, build self-esteem, and help children discover new things each day.

Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn.

Encourage children through role modeling and guidance to respect themselves and others.

Collaborate with classroom teams for planning and implementation of weekly lesson plans.
-
Plan open-ended activities with an emphasis on process orientation and a developmentally appropriate curriculum with age-appropriate and individualized activities.

Be responsible for reporting challenges, successes, and competencies of each student to the Director or to parents on a regular basis.

Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently, and respect themselves and others.

Be responsible for ensuring an educational, caring, and safe environment for the children.
-
Assist children with self-care (i.e. dressing, diapering, feeding).
-
Other duties as assigned by Lead Teachers and Program Supervisors.
What You Bring (Preferred Skills and Qualifications)
-
Minimum one year of experience working with children
-
Early Childhood Certification - ECE Level 1/2
-
Reggio-inspired or Montessori experience is an asset.
-
Current First Aid Certificate (may be obtained upon hire)
-
Criminal Record Check, with Vulnerable Sector Check, within the past 6 months (may be obtained upon hire)
