PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Work Equipment Storeperson supports smooth railway operations by efficiently receiving, organizing, issuing, and shipping essential parts and materials. They maintain accurate inventory records in SAP (System Analysis Program), uphold a safe and well‑managed warehouse, and ensure crews get the supplies they need—when they need them—to keep the railroad moving.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Receives verifies and issues material manually or through computer entry including maintaining bin locations and stock counts
- Stores material in correct warehouse locations using manual methods or material handling equipment
- Performs accurate counts of material received issued shipped or on hand and updates inventory systems including SAP
- Picks racks prepares and ships material including completing all required forms and using safe loading and unloading practices
- Operates forklifts hoists and other material handling equipment and may drive a highway vehicle for pickups or deliveries
- Ensures compliance with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Transportation Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations and reports hazards while keeping all work areas clean and safe
- Ensures all materials are properly stored secured and protected including when working outdoors in all weather
- Performs related duties as required to support warehouse and inventory operations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months of warehouse experience with material handling equipment experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Completion of a formal forklift training program with all examinations passed
- Ability to lift to 10 kg after training and up to 45 kg with further training and written instructions
- Ability to read write and count accurately
- Availability to work various shifts

Management Conductor Program
Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
