About the role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Home care and visiting care agency. Remote location. Various locations. Hospital or home for the aged. Nursing home/home for the aged. Group home. Tasks: Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities. Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment. Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment. Perform other duties related to personal care. Supply and empty bed pans. Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse. Serve meal trays and feed patients. Weigh, lift, turn and position patients. Make beds and maintain patients' rooms. Supervise patients' exercise routines. Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas. Maintain inventory of supplies. Transport patients between care facilities. Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Certificate. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate. Behaviour management Certification. First Aid Certificate. CPR Certificate. Health Care Aide Certificate. Area of work experience: University or college. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Own transportation. Own vehicle.
