About the role
The Director, Broker Relations is a highly proficient, strategic leader responsible for fostering strong, productive relationships with mortgage professionals, teams, and franchises within an assigned region and brand. Directors operate with a high level of autonomy, demonstrating advanced leadership capability, strategic judgment, and deep market insight to drive performance and retention. In collaboration with the Head of Broker Relations and other senior leaders, the Director provides mentorship and guidance to peers and emerging leaders within the network, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional service and performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Agent, Team & Franchise Management (70%)
Serve as the primary post-recruitment point of contact for agents, teams, and franchise owners. Establish and maintain open, effective communication channels between the field and head office. Provide ongoing support and guidance to corporate agents in collaboration with their Team Leaders, ensuring alignment with company standards, performance goals, and cultural values. Promote adoption and usage of M3 tools and offerings (e.g., BOSS, Simplinsur) to meet and exceed performance targets. Ensure compliance with organizational targets and deadlines, including volume, funding ratios, training, and regulatory requirements. Train and support Team Leaders and Franchise Owners in managing their agents to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to company policies. Conduct regular engagement meetings (virtual or in-person) tailored to team size and needs. Deliver and coordinate advanced training, coaching, and development initiatives to support business growth. Recognize and reward high performers while addressing underperformance constructively. Develop and manage lender relationships to support strong partnerships and positive outcomes. Collaborate with RVP Recruitment to set and achieve realistic yet ambitious funding targets for new recruits. Provide mentorship and support to Associate Directors and other team members, fostering professional growth and operational consistency.
Regional Engagement & Community Connection (10%)
Strengthen regional cohesion and loyalty by developing deep, authentic relationships with agents, teams, and franchise partners across the network. Inspire engagement and motivation through leadership presence at regional meetings, events, and conferences. Champion and participate in community initiatives, social gatherings, and charity events that promote unity and reinforce the organization’s values and culture. Actively cultivate a strong emotional connection between the network and the company, ensuring the region embodies the M3 culture of collaboration, pride, and purpose.
Organic Growth & Internal Referrals (10%)
Identify and cultivate internal referral opportunities from existing agents and teams. Refer out-of-region or out-of-brand leads to the appropriate recruitment team. Lead agreement negotiations and closings where applicable, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Lender Management (10%)
Lead the regional lender relationship strategy, ensuring proactive engagement and collaboration with key lender partners. Ensure agents and franchise owners consistently meet or exceed lender expectations for quality, compliance, and performance. Champion and promote lender programs that align with organizational priorities and growth objectives. Create and facilitate education and exposure opportunities that connect lenders and agents, driving awareness and productivity. Collaborate with national leadership and lender partners to identify and implement opportunities for strategic alignment and innovation.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven leader with experience managing agents, teams, and franchise partners in the mortgage or financial services industry. Strategic thinker with the ability to drive regional performance, retention, and growth. Exceptional relationship builder with agents, team leaders, franchise owners, and lender partners. Skilled coach and mentor, capable of developing emerging leaders and ensuring operational consistency. Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding business targets. Strong knowledge of compliance, regulatory requirements, and best practices in brokerage operations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; comfortable leading training and engagement initiatives. Passionate about building culture, fostering engagement, and promoting collaboration across teams. Autonomous, proactive, and resilient; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
