Role Description The Registered Veterinary Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with examinations, administering medications and treatments, performing laboratory and diagnostic tests, and supporting surgical procedures through anesthesia monitoring and patient care. The role also involves educating clients on preventive care, post-treatment instructions, and general animal health, as well as maintaining accurate medical records. The technologist will contribute to a clean, safe, and well-organized clinical environment and collaborate closely with veterinarians, veterinary assistants, and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care. Qualifications Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT/RVTg) designation or eligibility for registration in Alberta. Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, anesthesia monitoring, radiology, laboratory procedures, and surgical support. Knowledge of small animal medicine, preventive care, and routine nursing procedures. Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain medical information clearly and empathetically. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and support a positive, inclusive workplace culture. Competence in using veterinary practice management software and maintaining accurate medical records. Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills in a busy clinical setting. Flexibility to work full-time hours, including potential evening or weekend shifts as required. Previous experience in a small animal general practice is an asset.
