Position Overview

The Earthworks Foreman at Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. is responsible for overseeing earthwork operations on construction sites, ensuring that all activities such as excavation, grading, and site preparation are completed efficiently and safely. This role requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of earthmoving processes, and the ability to coordinate a team effectively for optimal project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all earthwork operations, ensuring work is performed according to project specifications and timelines.

• Manage and support a team of operators and laborers, providing training and mentoring as needed.

• Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to communicate progress and resolve any issues that arise during operations.

• Monitor the progress of earthworks and ensure that all safety measures are being followed while operating heavy machinery.

• Review plans and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.

• Maintain equipment and ensure that it is operated safely and efficiently.

• Conduct inspections and ensure that quality standards are met throughout the earthworks process.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in earthworks or heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.

• Strong knowledge of earthmoving techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and site specifications.

• Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team effectively.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; applicable certifications related to heavy equipment operation are preferred.

• Willingness to work extended hours and in various weather conditions as required.
