About the role
Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of the maintenance department to maximize productivity and minimize cost. This role includes training and overseeing maintenance employees, determining repair procedures, and evaluating problematic equipment or facilities to identify required installation or repair services.
Performance Expectations
-
Supervise maintenance department staff and plant equipment.

Foster effective employee relations by addressing concerns and supporting employees with challenges.

Conduct monthly department meetings and mentor staff to support performance and development.
-
Complete performance evaluations for maintenance employees.
-
Ensure availability of appropriate parts and supplies to maximize equipment uptime.

Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs and ensure compliance.
-
Maintain and update preventative maintenance (PM) software and documentation.
-
Arrange and review contractor quotes in coordination with Purchasing and Operations.
-
Ensure contractors meet all required documentation and site requirements.

Identify, recommend, and support training and development initiatives for maintenance staff.
-
Develop and monitor schedules for repairs, overhauls, and preventive maintenance activities.

Create and manage operating and project budgets.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
Credentials
-
High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
-
Journeyperson trade certification in a related field is required.
Desired Characteristics
-
Minimum five (5) years of experience in a maintenance environment.

Minimum two (2) years of supervisory or equivalent leadership experience.

Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, preventive maintenance systems, and safety standards.

Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
