About the role
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Parts Advisor to join our team. This role is an integral part of the dealership, supporting customers, technicians, and internal departments by ensuring the accurate sourcing and delivery of automotive parts and accessories. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, knowledgeable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Role Summary: The Parts Advisor is responsible for assisting customers, service technicians, and the sales team in identifying, sourcing, and purchasing automotive parts and accessories. This role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills to support the smooth operation of the dealership’s service and repair activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and service technicians promptly and professionally, assisting with parts inquiries.
- Identify, source, and provide accurate parts and accessory information using catalogs, databases, or manufacturer systems.
- Process parts orders for retail customers, wholesale accounts, and internal repair orders.
- Maintain parts inventory accuracy, including receiving, stocking, and organizing parts.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Department to ensure timely delivery of parts for repairs.
- Advise customers and technicians on pricing, availability, and alternative part options.
- Handle returns, warranty claims, and core returns in accordance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
- Support inventory management through cycle counts and stock replenishment.
- Assist with merchandising parts displays and promoting specials or accessories.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, invoices, and work orders in the dealership management system (DMS).
- Provide excellent customer service by resolving issues quickly and professionally.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in Automotive or Business is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years parts experience or related field
- Knowledge of automotive systems, parts, and accessories.
- Strong computer skills with experience using dealership or parts catalog systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
