DEPARTMENT: Kitchen TITLE: Head Housekeeper STATUS: 1.0 FTE – Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY: The Head Housekeeper is responsible to the Lodge Manager to ensure a high standard of housekeeping services, by leading and participating in the supervision, training, mentoring, and work standards of lodge attendants who perform housekeeping duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma
• Experience in housekeeping in a commercial capacity
• Supervisory experience – demonstrating supervisory skills of coaching, mentoring, directing the workforce, managing operational & staffing issues, etc.
• Basic First Aid
• WHMIS training

REQUIREMENTS

• Good communication skills; participates as a team player and problem solver
• Interested in working with senior citizens; focus on direct or indirect care and service to residents, families, peers
• Basic computer skills required, including ability to open, read and send emails; ability to access and utilize network information (internet and/or intranet) to access resources material and communication
• Responsible for the general organization and cleanliness of the entire lodge and outside areas
• Train / orientation / in-servicing staff as applicable
• Responsible for the department inventory (cleaning supplies, linens, equipment, etc.)
• Prepare and fix maintenance requisitions
• Scheduling of all housekeeping staff and evening staff
• Communicate residents’ needs to the Lodge Manager
