SOMMAIRE DU POSTE

Le gestionnaire de catégorie est le responsable d’affaires de l’un des portefeuilles d’éclairage de l’entreprise sur le marché commercial canadien. Ce rôle assume l’entière responsabilité de la stratégie de catégorie, de la performance financière, de l’exécution de la feuille de route et du succès sur le marché, afin d’assurer une croissance rentable et une différenciation concurrentielle du portefeuille.

Le gestionnaire de catégorie dirige une équipe dédiée à un segment et collabore de façon transversale avec les équipes d’ingénierie, de gestion de projets, des ventes, du marketing, des opérations et de la qualité afin d’assurer des lancements de produits réussis, un positionnement solide sur le marché et une adoption efficace par les canaux de distribution.

VOS PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS SERONT LES SUIVANTES

STRATÉGIE ET GESTION DE LA CATÉGORIE

Définir et piloter la stratégie de catégorie afin de soutenir la croissance, la rentabilité et le positionnement concurrentiel du portefeuille. Établir la feuille de route produit, les priorités d’investissement, les orientations de prix et les segments cibles. Suivre la performance de la catégorie et recommander les actions nécessaires pour optimiser le portefeuille.

DÉVELOPPEMENT DE PRODUITS, POSITIONNEMENT COMMERCIAL ET EXCELLENCE DES LANCEMENTS

Assurer la croissance et la rentabilité du portefeuille en pilotant les initiatives de développement de produits, la gestion du cycle de vie et l’optimisation de l’offre. Collaborer avec les équipes d’ingénierie, de projets, des ventes et du marketing pour livrer des lancements réussis et un positionnement fort sur le marché. Définir les stratégies de mise en marché, soutenir les outils de vente et suivre la performance des lancements afin d’assurer l’atteinte des objectifs d’affaires.

LEADERSHIP D’ÉQUIPE

Encadrer, mobiliser et développer l’équipe de gestion de produits en assurant un alignement clair sur les priorités et les objectifs de la catégorie. Soutenir l’équipe dans l’exécution des activités quotidiennes, des projets de développement et des lancements de produits. Favoriser une approche orientée marché, performance et collaboration interfonctionnelle.

Approche stratégique et orientée résultats, avec une forte capacité d’analyse et de prise de décision. Excellentes habiletés relationnelles et capacité à influencer efficacement des partenaires internes et externes. Capacité à gérer plusieurs priorités dans un environnement dynamique, tout en maintenant un haut niveau de rigueur et de collaboration. Leadership mobilisateur favorisant le développement de l’équipe et la collaboration interfonctionnelle. Souci du client, résolution de problèmes et excellence dans l’exécution.

Qualifications

Baccalauréat en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe. Minimum de 7 ans d’expérience en gestion de produits, de catégories ou de segments, idéalement dans l’éclairage, les contrôles ou les systèmes du bâtiment. Expérience en leadership d’équipe et en accompagnement de la performance. Excellentes aptitudes en communication et bonne maîtrise des outils informatiques, notamment la suite MS Office. Bilinguisme français et anglais, à l’oral comme à l’écrit. Bonne connaissance de l’industrie de l’éclairage; la connaissance de NetSuite constitue un atout. Disponibilité pour des déplacements occasionnels au Canada.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Category Manager is the business owner of one of the company’s lighting portfolios in the Canadian commercial market. This role has full responsibility for category strategy, financial performance, roadmap execution, and market success to ensure profitable growth and competitive differentiation of the portfolio.

The Category Manager leads a team dedicated to a specific segment and works cross-functionally with engineering, project management, sales, marketing, operations, and quality teams to ensure successful product launches, strong market positioning, and effective adoption through distribution channels.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

CATEGORY STRATEGY AND MANAGEMENT

Define and lead the category strategy to support portfolio growth, profitability, and competitive positioning. Establish the product roadmap, investment priorities, pricing direction, and target segments. Monitor category performance and recommend actions to optimize the portfolio.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, COMMERCIAL POSITIONING, AND LAUNCH EXCELLENCE

Drive portfolio growth and profitability by leading product development initiatives, lifecycle management, and offer optimization. Collaborate with engineering, project, sales, and marketing teams to deliver successful launches and strong market positioning. Define go-to-market strategies, support sales tools, and monitor launch performance to ensure business objectives are achieved.

TEAM LEADERSHIP

Coach, engage, and develop the product management team while ensuring clear alignment on category priorities and objectives. Support the team in executing day-to-day activities, development projects, and product launches. Promote a market-driven, performance-oriented, and cross-functional collaborative approach.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Strategic and results-driven mindset, with strong analytical and decision-making abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders effectively. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of rigor and collaboration. Strong leadership skills that foster team development and cross-functional collaboration. Customer focus, problem-solving ability, and excellence in execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in product, category, or segment management, ideally in lighting, controls, or building systems. Experience leading teams and supporting performance development. Excellent communication skills and strong proficiency with computer tools, including the MS Office suite. Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written. Good knowledge of the lighting industry; knowledge of NetSuite is considered an asset. Availability for occasional travel within Canada.
